Some days it is hard to stay positive and have an optimistic outcome. Before even getting to work, there are a number of ways to.


FIND A WAY TO RELIEVE STRESS

We are all affected by stress in different ways and it is important to find an outlet in which to channel it. Whether you enjoy going to the gym, meeting up with friends, or even just reading a book, find a way to switch off from your stresses in life. Try not to sweat the small stuff and just move on. If you company allows you could consider bringing your furry friend into the office with you.


GET ENOUGH SLEEP

Make sure you prioritise sleep and your mental health. It is hard to be positive if you’re running on 3 hours sleep! Get into a bedtime routine that allows your mind to switch off at a similar time every night and prepare your body for sleep.


POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS

Be friendly, fun and inviting. Walk into work and say “today is going to be a great day”. Saying things out loud and declaring a positive mood (even if you’re not), really does influence how you feel. Using this positive language and not criticising or complaining can also help.


DEVELOP POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS

You spend most of your days with the same people, so why not get to know them? If you spend time outside of work with these people and better improve your friendships then not only will your positive attitude improve, you will also improve your teamwork in the work place.


TAKE A BREAK

On your break leave your work space and go for a walk. Having a fresh view and leaving the work behind you gives you a fresh start to the afternoon. Also, the exercise will help to improve your overall happiness.
